Terms of Use

1. Agreement

These terms apply to your use of the Mathroom web application and the pages at mathroom.fun, operated by Cody Snyder. By using Mathroom you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use it.

2. Who may use Mathroom

Mathroom is designed for children. Free to use. No purchase, no subscription, no in app purchases, and no ads. No accounts. No email address, no password, nothing to sign up for. There is no eligibility gate.

Children should use Mathroom with the awareness of a parent, guardian, or teacher. No information is collected, so no parental consent is required for data purposes, but a parent should know what their child is using.

Anyone may use Mathroom for personal, family, or classroom purposes at no cost.

3. Permission to use

We grant you a personal, non exclusive, non transferable, revocable permission to use Mathroom for learning and teaching. Schools, districts, tutors, and families may use it in their normal work without a licence, a contract, or a fee.

You may not:

Printing, projecting, and sharing Mathroom's freely offered materials (the teacher quickstart) for classroom and family use is expressly permitted and encouraged.

4. Intellectual property

Mathroom, its characters, artwork, music, voices, written content, and software are owned by Cody Snyder and protected by intellectual property law. The name Mathroom and the characters Riff, Thunk, Lacy and Pearl are ours.

Nothing in these terms transfers ownership of anything to you.

5. In game currency and items

Mathroom contains in game currencies (slime bucks and star tokens) and in game items, collectibles, and rewards.

These have no monetary value. They are not property, not securities, and not a substitute for currency. They:

6. Your saved progress

No student data collected. Progress is stored on the device.

You are responsible for your own saved progress. We cannot access it, restore it, or recover it, because we never receive it.

We do not warrant that saved progress will be preserved. It may be lost through clearing browser or site data, browser or device changes, storage limits, device failure, browser updates, or changes to the application. Export a backup file if your progress matters to you. The application provides this function and it takes a few seconds.

7. Availability and changes

Mathroom is provided free of charge and we may change, suspend, or discontinue it, in whole or in part, at any time and without notice. We may modify features, content, in game economies, and these terms.

We are under no obligation to maintain the service, though we intend to.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

Mathroom is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non infringement, and any warranty arising from course of dealing or usage of trade.

We do not warrant that:

Mathroom is a practice tool, not an assessment instrument. The report summarises practice evidence. It is not a grade, a diagnosis, or a placement recommendation. Reports must not be used as formal assessments.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Cody Snyder will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, saved progress, goodwill, or educational opportunity, arising out of or relating to your use of or inability to use Mathroom, whether based in contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or any other theory, and whether or not we were advised of the possibility of such damages.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to Mathroom will not exceed one hundred United States dollars ($100).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations or exclusions, so some of the above may not apply to you. In that case our liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.

10. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Cody Snyder from third party claims arising out of your wilful misuse of Mathroom or your knowing violation of these terms.

This does not apply to ordinary classroom or family use, and it does not apply to a school, district, or public institution acting within its normal duties.

11. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Maricopa County, Arizona, and you consent to their jurisdiction.

Public schools and districts are frequently prohibited by law or policy from agreeing to out of state governing law, mandatory arbitration, or class action waivers. If your institution cannot accept this section, contact hello@mathroom.fun.

12. Third party links

Our pages may link to sites we don't control. We are not responsible for their content or practices.

13. Termination

We may suspend or end access for anyone who violates these terms. You may stop using Mathroom at any time: there is no account to close.

14. Severability and entire agreement

If any provision is held unenforceable, the remainder stays in effect. These terms and the privacy policy are the entire agreement between us about Mathroom, and supersede prior understandings.
